Ahh, Thanksgiving Weekend. One of my favourites for a couple reasons...
#1 - It leads into Halloween (my favourite!), and shortly thereafter Christmas!
#2 - Turkey. Need I say more?
#3 - Family and friends gather to celebrate how thankful they are. You get to enjoy time with those you love, being happy and eating a delicious meal. Who could ask for more?
#4 - The local fair is on - one I've been going to since I was knee high to a grasshopper.
#5 - It means fall is in full swing. And fall is so very beautiful.
I am very thankful this year. It's been an expensive and change filled year for us - and already we've been pushed further than we thought we could manage. But we did, and we feel good about it.
I am so thankful for family this year. In the five years I've been with my hubby, it's our first thanksgiving with family. It was always just the two of us before. So this is a big year, the first of the holidays with family around. I just can't wait to sit down to turkey dinner with my parents and siblings and nephews all around. The table full of love and laughter and good food and togetherness.
This move has been challenging (as you can see from my past posts). We've been struggling terribly to find our place here and to be happy with our decision to move. But we know, in our hearts, this is the place for us to be. We just have to find our footing here. We are thankful for the move, for the ability to move and the wonderful, warm reception we received. We're thankful to have the company, support and friendship here. We're thankful for this house, that we love so.
We're thankful for everything we have. Our family, friends, home, pets, health...etc. We're thankful to have the life we have, to have this beautiful place in the country, and to live in a home that holds such history for my family.
This year, we're thankful just to be.
